KinnArt Ravin Mural Project

This is not public this is art made by the public

This Is Not Public Art  - This Is Art Made by the Public10 Years of the KinArt Ravine Mural Project

This summer, we proudly celebrate 10 years of the KinArt Ravine Mural Project, a decade of painting, community-building, and cultural expression through collective creativity.

From day one, this project has been rooted in the belief that art belongs to everyone. That’s why we say:

This is not public art. This is art made by the public.

Over the past ten years, people from all walks of life, families, couples, kids, professional artists, seniors, and community members from many different cultures and backgrounds have come together to create something truly unique. It’s not about skill or status. It’s about connection, contribution, and shared vision.

The KinArt Ravine Mural Project is a celebration of diverse voices, lived experiences, and cultural stories, expressed in colour and shape along the winding trails of the ravine. Each mural reflects not only individual expression but collective memory layered with meaning, history, and hope.

What makes this project even more powerful is its commitment to free, accessible, and inclusive artmaking. For ten years, this space has welcomed everyone. No fees. No barriers. Just the opportunity to create and connect.

And the work doesn’t stop when the paint dries. Every year, community members return to renew, care for, and reimagine the murals. The ravine is a space that evolves with time, weather, and the people who care for it.

We believe:We should be the ones who paint our own communities with brushes and with action. We have the power and the responsibility to shape our neighbourhoods, and to shape the ways we work together across differences. The ravine reminds us what’s possible when patience, understanding, cultural respect, collaboration, and dedication come together.

It is more than a mural path. The KinArt Ravine is a living statement of community care, dream, action, and implementation.
