OUR STORY
The KinnArt Ravine Mural Project is a public art gallery in the Kinnaird Ravine located at 82 Street and 111 Avenue, accessible from Sheriff Robertson Park. This outdoor community art installation was developed in 2015 and eventually renewed in 2018. The main principle behind this initiative is “it is not public art, it is art made by the public”. We mentor community participants, practice muralism, design, prepare and paint 62 murals covering 1,900 sqft of community art space installed along retaining walls in the Kinnaird Ravine, with all murals created by local families, professional artists and non-profit groups.
Be advised that we have a total of 21 murals, we will prioritize groups and families from Parkdale Cromdale Community league, non-profits and local artists.
The program will be run every Saturday starting on June 24 until August 14, 2021 from 10 am until
2 pm.
We will provide acrylic paint and brushes, please come prepared with sun tan lotion, water and any other outdoor necessities for the weather.
Update for COVID 19 protocols:
Please be advised that we will be working outdoors and we will have hand sanitizer stations around our community league. We have enough space to work with physical distance in your own teams. Mask will not be mandatory but we advise our community to be mindful and respectful with everybody's level of comfort. We are complying with current protocols for outdoor gatherings.
